Scott West, principal of West Architecture Studio, is a ‘real’ architect which has become less common in residential design these days, having held a license to practice architecture for over 20 years.  He is a graduate of Georgia Tech and the architectural division of the famed Ecole des Beaux Arts school in Paris, France where he completed one year of intensive architectural training.

Scott completed his apprenticeship at several notable architecture firms, including a stint with a high-end residential design/build firm, before starting his own practice in 1998.  Since then he has designed a multitude of commercial and residential projects in the Atlanta area including The Paul Mitchell School at King Plow Arts Center and the Westside Shops at Howell Mill as well as numerous residential projects, both contemporary and traditional, up to $5 million in value. As the firm has matured, Scott has guided the company to focus more specifically on single-family and boutique-scale multifamily projects to allow us to focus on being the best in the business for these project types, not just in Atlanta but ,increasingly, in areas well outside of Atlanta as well.

Scott has significant personal experience in both construction and project development, gaining detailed and hands-on experience in all phases of construction giving him an edge over most architects in terms of realistic and accurate building detailing and cost-control resulting in a smoother construction experience for both clients and contractors.
